Ayyappa Agri Value Chain Private Limited is located in the middle of Chennai. We have our space in the Parson Commercial Complex. It’s a well-known building on Anna Salai, specifically at 600 Anna Salai, on the second floor, room D 5. If you know Chennai, you know Anna Salai is one of the busiest roads in the city. It’s a far cry from the actual farms we deal with, but it’s where we do our administrative work. The complex itself is quite old and has a lot of different businesses in it. Our office is small and usually filled with papers and files about the agricultural value chain. We don’t really have any big displays or fancy furniture. It’s just a place to sit and work. Being on the second floor means we’re away from the worst of the street noise, but you can still hear the traffic humming all day. We spend most of our time on the phone or on the computer, coordinating things across different parts of Tamil Nadu. It’s a lot of logistics and planning. We don’t talk much about things like big missions or fancy goals; we just focus on getting the work finished before it’s time to head home. The heat in Chennai can be a bit much in the summer, especially in an old commercial building, but we’ve got our fans going and we stay productive. It’s a simple, hardworking environment here for all of us.
