Top Knit Prints

We are over here at No. 8/270 G in Periyar Colony. If you know the area, it is right opposite K. P. R. Knits which is a big place. Our shop is on the Anupparpalayam Pudhur stretch along Avinashi Road. It is usually quite busy outside with all the trucks and bikes going past. Inside it smells like ink and fabric most days. We do a lot of printing on knitwear because that is what this part of town is known for. The machines make a lot of noise but we are used to it by now. Some of us have been working here for years and we know the routine. We start early when it is still cool outside. By midday the sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard. We have a small space but we fit everything in. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It is not a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. Just a regular workshop with stacks of shirts and prints waiting to dry. People drop by with orders or just to chat for a minute. We keep the doors open to let some air in even though it brings in the dust from the road. It is honest work and we stay busy enough. If you are looking for us just watch for the sign near the turn. We usually have the radio playing in the background but you can barely hear it.
