Avila Exim Llp is based right on Thambu Chetty Street in Chennai. We’re on the fourth floor of the building at New No. 126. If you look at the old records, the number was 269/1. It’s a very old part of the city, and the 600001 pin code tells you we’re right in the heart of the business district. Walking up to the fourth floor every day can be a bit tiring, especially when it’s humid outside, but it’s just part of the routine. We handle a lot of export and import documentation from this office. It’s a small space, mostly filled with desks and old filing cabinets. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big reception area. Most of our work is done over the phone or through emails with port agents and shipping lines. Chennai is a busy port city, so there’s always something happening with the cargo. We’ve been here for quite some time and we know the area well. It’s a lot of noise and bustle on the street below, but we just focus on our work. We aren’t a huge company with hundreds of employees. We’re just a few people who know the ropes of the shipping business. We try to keep everything organized, even if it doesn't always look like it. It’s a practical, everyday sort of life for us here. We just show up and do the work that needs doing.
