You can find Avalon Technologies Pvt Ltd. at B-8, First Main Road, inside the MEPZ-SEZ in Tambaram. Being in a Special Economic Zone means there’s a lot of security and rules, but inside our doors, it’s just a group of people focused on the job. We have a decent-sized floor where most of the assembly and tech work happens. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits. Most of us are in casual clothes or work uniforms, depending on what we're doing that day. The canteen is where most of the real talk happens, usually over a plate of something hot during the lunch break. We’ve been at this for a while, and we’ve seen the SEZ grow and change around us. Our workspace is organized because it has to be for the kind of work we do, but it still has that lived-in feel. There are notes taped to monitors and half-empty water bottles on the benches. We don't spend much time on fancy presentations for the board. We’re more concerned with making sure the output is right and the shipping crates are ready to go out the gate. The commute to Tambaram can be a grind with the traffic, but once we’re here, we just get stuck into the tasks.
