Autoparts Asia is located at 22/37 on Karpaga Vinayagar Koil Street in Alandur. It’s a narrow street in Chennai, and it can get quite hot during the middle of the day. The building is an older style, and we share the neighborhood with a lot of small shops and houses. You can hear the temple bells sometimes, which is a nice break from the usual city noise. Inside the office, things are pretty simple. We have a few racks of parts and some desks that have seen better days. The floor is made of that old-fashioned tile that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking the inventory. It’s not a big corporate setup with a receptionist or anything. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just answers it. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when the afternoon slump hits. The traffic in Alandur can be a real headache, so we try to get our shipping done early in the morning. We don’t have any big posters on the walls about goals or things like that. We just have a calendar and a few photos of our families. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and handle the parts as they come in and go out.
