If you ever walk through Chickpet Cross, you know how crowded it gets. We are tucked away at No 3 V S Lane. Asha Cables and Conductors has been operating out of this narrow little street for a long time. It’s noisy and there’s always someone pushing a cart past the door, but we like it here. We deal with all kinds of cables and conductors, mostly for electrical jobs and wiring. The shop isn't much to look at, just shelves piled high with rolls of wire and heavy metal bits. Sometimes it's hard to find what you're looking for right away because things get stacked up, but we know where everything is. Our days start early because the market wakes up fast. We spend a lot of time cutting lengths of wire or loading stuff onto small trucks. It’s dusty work and your hands get dirty pretty quick. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. Usually, people just walk in or call us because they’ve been coming here for years. It’s a tight space, and when we have a big delivery, it gets even tighter. But that’s just life in Chickpet. We do what we can with the space we have and try to get the orders right. It's a simple operation, nothing more, nothing less. Just a bunch of us working in the lane, trying to get through the daily list of chores and deliveries.
