There is always someone moving something or a scooter zipping by the front door. We have been at 77/87 for a long time now. It is a mix of two different things here, the clinic part and the optical shop part. We spend half our time looking at eyes and the other half helping people pick out their glasses. People come in to try on different frames and they spend ages looking in the mirror trying to decide. It is funny to watch them sometimes. Choolaimedu is a very lively place to have a business like this. Bajanai Koil street has its own rhythm that we have grown used to. We open up early in the morning and start by cleaning all the glass cases. Dust is really our biggest enemy with all the glasses we have on display. We do not have a big team of people, just a few of us making sure everything stays in the right place. The optical side has all sorts of frames, some old and some new styles. We do not try to be fancy or high-end. It is just a practical shop for people who need to see better. Sometimes we just stand at the door to watch the street.
