If you’ve ever walked down Perumal Madley Street in Sowcarpet, you’ve probably passed by us. Anmol Tapes is at number 36. Sowcarpet is always crowded, always noisy, and we’re right in the middle of all that chaos. We deal with all kinds of tapes for packing and industrial use. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with rolls of every size. It’s a bit of a maze inside, and you have to watch your step. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights. People just come in, ask for what they need, and we find it for them in the stacks. It’s a very straightforward way of doing business. We’ve been here for years now. We know the other shopkeepers on the street and sometimes share a meal. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool and have tea when it’s not too busy. The summers get really hot in this part of town, but we just keep the ceiling fans going. We don't bother with fancy marketing or glossy brochures. We just focus on having what people need when they need it. It’s a lot of lifting heavy boxes and counting stock every week. Not very glamorous, but it’s our life and we're used to it. We like the energy of Sowcarpet. It keeps us on our toes every single day. Just a local business doing its thing on Perumal Madley Street.
