Our office is tucked away on the fourth floor of the Ega Trade Centre, right next to the Ega Theatre. If you’re looking for shop 4A, that’s us. It’s a busy spot in Kilpauk, and the noise from Poonamallae High Road is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We handle ship management, which basically means a lot of technical stuff and keeping track of crews and vessels out at sea. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we don't make a big show of it. The office is pretty standard—desks, computers, some old files, and usually a pot of tea going somewhere. We have a few people who have been here since the start, and they know the ins and outs of the maritime world like the back of their hands. It gets pretty hectic when there’s a change in schedule or some issue at a port, but that’s just the nature of the business. We aren't big on those corporate slogans or fancy presentations. We just focus on the ships and making sure everything runs like it's supposed to. It’s hard work and the hours can be strange because ships don't follow a nine-to-five schedule. Sometimes we’re here late, sometimes we’re here early. It’s just how it goes for us here in Chennai. We’ve been in this building long enough that the security guards know us all by name.
