Anabham Koteswara Rao & Sons

Our office is on the first floor of House Number 16/2 on Krishnaswamy Naidu Street. It’s over in Palavanthangal. This is a family-run thing, Anabham Koteswara Rao & Sons. The building looks like a regular house from the outside, but we’ve turned the upstairs into our workspace. It feels a bit more personal that way, I think. We have been here for years. My father started things and now we just carry it on. There are old wooden desks and cabinets full of records from way back. It’s not a high-tech setup. We still write a lot of things down by hand in ledgers. The street outside is usually quiet, except for the occasional bike or delivery truck. We like the pace here. It’s not like the city center where everyone is rushing. We take our time with our customers and make sure we understand what they want. Sometimes we sit and have tea with people who have been buying from us for decades. It's about those relationships more than anything else. We don't have a website or do any big advertising. Word of mouth seems to work well enough for us in Palavanthangal. We keep the place clean but it definitely looks like a place where real work happens. Every day is pretty much the same, and we are quite alright with that. It's a simple life and a simple business that has served our family well through the years.
