Ami Enterprise

If you’re ever near Shankerda Hall in Ghatlodiya, you’ll find Ami Enterprise at B/17 in the Suntrek Shopping Center. It’s a busy little spot, and there’s always something going on in the hallways of the center. We started this business to supply people with the things they need for their own shops or homes. We don't have a giant warehouse; we have a compact space filled with stock and a couple of desks. Most of our day is spent dealing with customers who walk in or calling up our suppliers to see when the next batch of goods is arriving. It can get a bit crowded when a lot of people show up at once, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Ahmedabad; we just want to be the one that people can rely on in this neighborhood. Our staff is just a few local people who know the regulars by name. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just open up the shutters in the morning, check the inventory, and start helping whoever comes through the door. It’s simple, honest work. Sometimes we lose track of time talking to a neighbor or a fellow shopkeeper. That’s just the way it is when you’re part of a community like this. We like the hustle of the shopping center and the familiar faces we see every day. It’s a small place but it’s ours.
