Sakthi Industries

Our workshop is located at number 1 on 10th Street, which is part of the Tass Industrial Estate in Ambattur. It’s a very industrial part of Chennai, so there are always trucks moving and the sound of machines coming from the neighbors. We’ve been here for years, and the building definitely shows its age. There’s grease on the walls and the floor is concrete. We do various types of industrial work and manufacturing. It isn't a clean or quiet job, but it is what we know how to do. The heat in Ambattur can be pretty intense during the middle of the day, especially with all the metal around us. We usually take a long lunch break when it’s at its hottest. Most of the guys working here are from around the local area. We don't have any big mission or anything like that, we just want to get the orders done right so the customers don't complain. The 10th street is a bit bumpy and the roads inside the estate aren't the best, especially when it rains and things get muddy. We have a small office section where we keep the ledger and take calls, but most of the action happens out on the floor. It’s a practical place for practical work. We just show up every morning, open the heavy shutters, and get started with whatever is on the schedule for the day. That is our routine.
