You can find Sri Balakrishna Industries right on M.T.H. Road in Ambattur O.T. We are at number 209/1, which is directly opposite the State Bank of India. It’s a very busy road, so there’s always the sound of horns and engines. Being right across from the bank means there are always people around. Our workshop is an old-fashioned space. We have some heavy machinery that takes up most of the room. It’s been there for years and we know all the quirks of each machine. The walls are a bit stained from the oil and the work we do, but it’s a productive place. We usually have the front shutters halfway up to let some air in. It gets quite hot inside when everything is running at once. We spend our days measuring things and making sure the parts are right. It’s a lot of manual work. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the papers, but mostly we are on our feet. The staff has been together for a long time. We eat lunch together in the back sometimes. It’s a straightforward industrial spot. We just focus on the jobs we get from the local area. There’s no big corporate vibe here, just people working. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a project. We just turn on the extra lights and keep going. It’s just how we operate. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years.
