Menaka Fashions

You have to head up the stairs at No. 41 TTK Road to find where we are. We are situated right above Datamatics, near the Bishop Palace Garden area. It is a pretty nice part of Alwar Peth, with more trees than you usually see in this city. Menaka Fashions is basically just a few rooms filled up with different garments and rolls of cloth. We have been here for a good while now. It’s a bit of a climb up to the shop, but our customers don’t seem to mind it much. We usually keep the windows open to let some air in, as long as it isn't too dusty outside. The shop stays fairly quiet most of the day unless we get a few groups in at the same time. We don’t really have any big signs or advertisements. Most people find us because a friend told them or they live in the nearby flats. My aunt started this whole thing and I have been helping her out for a few years now. We spend our days checking for loose threads and making sure the sizes are sorted right. It is a lot of manual work and my back usually aches by the time we close up. Folding everything back up neatly takes a long time. We don’t try to be anything special, it’s just a place to buy decent clothes. Alwar Peth is a good spot for us.
