We are Teak World, located at 24A Spring Garden 1st Street. It’s a decent little spot and we’ve made ourselves at home here over the years. Mostly, what we do involves teak wood and making sure it gets where it needs to go. If you come by, you’ll likely smell the sawdust and the oil we use to finish the pieces. It’s a very physical job. We spend a lot of time lifting heavy planks and sanding things down until they are smooth to the touch. It’s not always pretty work, especially when the weather is hot and the workshop gets humid and sticky. We don't have a fancy showroom with velvet ropes or bright lights. It’s just a place where we work with wood. Sometimes we have stacks of lumber waiting to be cut, and other times we are packing up finished items to send out on a truck. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just a place that does the work right and doesn't cut corners. The guys here have been doing this for a long time, so they know their way around a saw. It’s a bit messy at the end of the day with wood chips everywhere, but we sweep up and start again the next morning. It’s honest work and we like seeing the grain of the wood come out after all that sanding. It’s just what we do here on Spring Garden 1st Street, day in and day out.
