If you know Parrys, you know how crowded and lively it can be. Our office is at No 4/38 on the 4th Floor of the Tower Building on Krishna Koil Street. Getting up here can be a bit of a journey if the elevator is acting up, which happens every now and then. Being in the heart of the city like this means we are right in the middle of all the trade and transport action. Ags World Transport India Pvt Ltd is just a bunch of us working in a room filled with the sounds of the street coming through the windows. Krishna Koil Street is very narrow, and you see all sorts of things being moved on handcarts right below us. Our office is functional and a little bit cluttered with all the export-import paperwork we have to manage. We have a small corner where we keep the tiffin boxes for lunch. It is not a place with glass walls or expensive furniture. We use simple wooden desks and chairs that have been around for years. Moving things across the world sounds grand, but for us, it is mostly about tracking numbers and making sure the port clearances are done. It is a very human way of doing business in a very historic part of Chennai. We just keep things moving and try to stay cool under the fans.
