Achus Pet Clinic

Achus Pet Clinic is tucked away in Natesan Nagar, over in the Virugambakkam area. It’s not a huge place, just a small clinic where we see a lot of dogs and cats from the surrounding streets. The floors are made of tile so they're easy to mop down after a busy morning. You can usually hear a dog barking or a cat meowing from the waiting area. We don't have a lot of space, so things can get a bit cramped when three or four people bring their pets in at the same time. The shelves are lined with shampoo bottles, some medicines, and bags of pet food. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after the animals and talking to owners about how their pets are eating. It’s a noisy, busy kind of job but we're used to it by now. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we know many of the pets that live nearby. Some of them have been coming here since they were tiny. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who handle everything from the front desk to helping out in the exam room. The hours can be long, especially if there's an emergency late in the day. We don't have fancy signs or big advertisements, just a simple door in Virugambakkam where people know they can bring their animals when something is wrong. We just take care of the local pets here at Achus Pet Clinic.
