Abl Biotechnologies Ltd. is tucked away at number 55 on 3rd East Street in Kamaraj Nagar. If you are familiar with Thiruvanmiyur, you know it’s a bit quieter here than the main parts of Chennai. Our building is a standard plot, nothing that stands out from the road. We spend most of our time inside where it’s a bit cooler, though the humidity still gets to us. The work we do is technical, but the daily routine is pretty ordinary. We arrive, check the mail, and see what needs to be handled in the lab sections. The street outside is narrow, so we often see the same neighbors walking their dogs or kids going to school while we are loading or unloading stuff. It’s a small operation here, so everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don’t have a big fancy sign or a lobby with a receptionist. You just walk in and find whoever is available. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a pain, but we have a backup that kicks in. We do our best to stay organized with all the folders and samples, but things can get a bit messy during a busy week. It’s just a group of us trying to keep things running smoothly in this corner of the city. We like being close to the coast, even if we don't get to the beach as much as we’d like after a long shift.
