We spend most of our days here on Anna Street in Velacheri, right around the Alagappa Nagar area. If you know Padmavathy Nagar Extn, that is where our workshop sits. It is not a very fancy place, just a workspace where we deal with chairs and sofas. Most mornings start with moving things around to make space for the day’s work. There is always some dust from the wood or scraps of fabric lying on the floor. People from around the neighborhood drop by when their office chairs start acting up or when their home sofa needs a bit of life put back into it. We have been in this spot for a while now. The street can get a bit busy with traffic, but inside we are usually focused on the tools and the materials. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know how to handle furniture. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the machinery, but that is just how it goes in a workshop. We mostly deal with local folks and small offices nearby. It is a simple setup at No 1 A. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look perfect for a catalog. We just do the work as it comes in. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so we just get on with it without much fuss. If you walk past, you’ll probably see us unloading something from a truck or fixing a leg on a chair.
