A. V. Thomas Leather & Allied Products Pvt. Ltd. has been over here at 118-A, Velachery Road in Guindy for quite some time. If you know Guindy, you know the traffic can be a nightmare near the station and the racecourse, but we’re used to it by now. The office is right on the road, so we hear the buses and horns all day long. It’s an old building, and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s got character. We deal with leather and other products, so there’s always something being moved in or out. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes with boxes stacked up in the corners, but we know where everything is. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just do the work and handle the orders as they come. The staff has been with us for years, and we all just get along and do our bits. Sometimes we sit out front when it’s cooler in the evening. Velachery Road is always changing, with new shops opening and closing, but we’ve stayed put. It’s a practical place for us to be because it’s central to a lot of our contacts. We don't try to be something we’re not; we’re just a leather business doing our daily grind here in Guindy.
