A. P. J Cabs

We are located on the first floor of building number 53 on Govindan Road. West Mambalam is a busy neighborhood with tight streets, so managing a cab business from here is always interesting. At A. P. J Cabs, the phones are usually ringing with people needing a ride to the airport or a station. We spend our time talking to drivers on the radio or the phone and trying to figure out the best routes through the Chennai traffic. It’s a small office, and we have a few chairs for drivers to sit in while they wait for their shifts. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, but you get used to them. We don't have much in the way of fancy furniture, just some desks and a lot of maps and schedules pinned to the walls. Outside, you can hear the horns and the street vendors, which is just part of life in West Mambalam. It can be stressful when a car breaks down or a driver is late, but we just deal with it as it comes. We have been operating from this spot for a good while. It is a local business, and most of us live nearby, so we know the shortcuts and the bad traffic spots. We just focus on keeping the cars moving and making sure the drivers know where they are going each day.
