A One Interiors

You can find us on the first floor of Anna Nagar Plaza, which is right there on 2nd Avenue. We are in unit C-47, up the stairs. Anna Nagar is a busy place, and being in the plaza means we see a lot of people walking by every day. Our space is filled with all kinds of interior samples—bits of wood, tile pieces, and fabric swatches for sofas. It’s not exactly organized like a museum; things are usually spread out on the big table while we’re working on a plan for someone’s house. We spend a lot of time talking to homeowners about what they want their kitchens or bedrooms to look like. It’s a lot of measuring and re-measuring to make sure everything fits right. We aren't designers who wear fancy clothes; we’re usually in dusty jeans because we’ve just come from a site visit. My partner handles the drawings while I talk to the carpenters and suppliers. Sometimes things go wrong, like a shipment of handles being the wrong color, and we have to spend the afternoon sorting it out. We don't use big words or try to act like we’re some high-end firm. We just help people make their homes a bit more comfortable. The view from our window shows the traffic on 2nd Avenue, and it’s a good spot to sit and think about the next project. It’s a decent way to earn a living for all of us here.
