A K Ismail & Co. If you know Chennai, you know how crazy Parrys can get. We are located on Sembudoss Street, right near the Flower Bazaar. You can usually smell the jasmine and marigolds in the morning before the traffic noise takes over everything. Our place at No 44 is an old building, nothing special to look at, but it’s been our home for a long time. The streets are so narrow that getting deliveries in and out is always a bit of a struggle. We’ve got piles of stock reaching up to the ceiling sometimes. It’s a bit cramped, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re too busy to worry about that. My grandfather used to run things here, and not much has changed in terms of how we do business. We talk to our customers face to face, and most of them have been coming to us for years. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and it’s always hot, but that’s just life in this part of the city. We don't have a website that works very well, and we don't really care about being online much. People know where we are. If you walk past the flower sellers and turn down Sembudoss, you’ll see our sign. We just keep going, day after day, handling our business the way we know how. It is a busy, tiring, but good life here.
