Udankudi Karupatti Coffee

You will find Udankudi Karupatti Coffee at number 52, Bharathiyar Street. This is over in the Veerapuram area, quite close to the Mahindra World City. It is an interesting spot because you have the big corporate area nearby, but our street feels more like a regular neighborhood. We focus on our coffee, and the smell usually fills the small space we have here. We use palm jaggery, which is what karupatti is, and that gives the shop a specific scent. It is not a big cafe with soft chairs. We have a simple setup where we brew the coffee and serve it to people passing by. Many workers from the nearby offices stop in when they are coming or going. We keep the place tidy, but it is definitely a working shop. The street can get pretty busy with commuters. We spend a lot of time grinding the coffee and preparing the jaggery. It is a routine we have been following for a while now. We don't do much in terms of marketing. Most of our customers come because they live or work in Veerapuram. It is a straightforward business. We open up, make the coffee, and talk to the regulars. It is a good way to spend the day in this part of town. We just try to keep things simple and consistent.
