Thiruvalluvar Samayam Foundation

Our small office is at No. 4 in Vethathri Nagar, just off the GST Road in Guduvanchery. Being so close to the main road means it’s always busy and there’s always noise from the buses going past. We don’t mind it much. We’ve been here for a while and we’ve seen the area change quite a bit. Our group is just local folks who wanted to have a place to meet and talk about things that matter. We don’t have a fancy lobby or assistants. You just walk in and someone will be there at the desk, probably drinking tea. We spend a lot of time discussing old ideas and how they fit into life today. It’s not a complicated thing we’re doing. We just want to provide a space where people can come and learn or just be around others. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy with our daily tasks to worry about that right now. Sometimes we have small gatherings, and it gets a bit tight in the room, but we make it work by bringing in extra stools from the back. It’s a very local thing. We know most of the people who walk by our door. We’re just part of the neighborhood, trying to do something decent every day. It’s a simple life and we quite like it this way.
