Down here at 89 Pudupalayam, the scale of things is quite something. It is a big place, and there are a lot of people coming in and out every day for different shifts. I’ve been working around here for a while now. It’s not like a small neighborhood shop; it’s more like a small city in itself. You see the transport buses lined up early in the morning and late at night. The noise of the assembly lines is something you just get used to after a week. It becomes like background music. Most of us are just focused on our specific area. It’s a lot of walking because the site is so spread out. You meet people from all over the country working here. We usually grab a quick meal at the canteen and talk about how the shift is going. Sometimes things break down and the line stops, which is a bit of a break but also a headache for the supervisors. It’s a serious environment because everyone has a job to do. Even though it's a huge name, for us, it's just where we spend our eight or ten hours. The heat in the summer can be tough inside the big sheds, but we manage. We aren't doing anything fancy, just following the processes and making sure the parts are moving along. It’s steady work, and it keeps a lot of families in the area going. That is just how life is at Renault Nissan.
