Our office is situated at number 5 in Mamallapuram. It is a small coastal town known for its stone carvings and history, which is where we get a lot of our inspiration. We work on exporting local goods to people in different parts of the world. The building is quite simple and we don't have a big storefront since most of our business happens through orders. You can hear the ocean if the wind is blowing the right way and the air always has a bit of salt in it. We spend a lot of time coordinating with local artisans and then packing things securely for long trips. The boxes are piled up in the corners waiting for the truck to come and take them to the port. It is a slow pace of life here compared to the big cities, but the work still keeps us busy from dawn to dusk. Sometimes we have to go down to the harbor to check on how things are being handled. We have a small team and we all do a bit of everything, from answering emails to taping up crates. It is an honest living and we enjoy being part of this community. When the tourists arrive in the winter, the streets get very full, but our corner stays relatively quiet. We just keep our focus on the shipping schedules and making sure the artisans have what they need to finish the next batch of goods.
