K N S Modern Rice Mill

We are located at 43, Chengalpattu Road, which is a busy stretch where you see a lot of trucks passing by all day. The mill itself has been standing here for years, and the walls are a bit stained from the weather and the dust. When the machines are running, you can feel the vibration in the ground all the way out to the front gate. We deal with a lot of paddy here, and during the harvest season, the yard is completely full of golden grain spread out to dry. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting the sacks and making sure the moisture levels are right before the rice goes into the milling section. We have a small crew of guys who have been with us for a long time. They know the sound of the equipment and can tell if something is wrong just by listening to the rhythm of the motors. It’s not a clean job, and by the end of the day, everyone is covered in fine bran. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It’s just us working in the heat and making sure the bags are loaded onto the trucks correctly. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, and we just sit outside on the stone wall until it comes back on. That’s just life on Chengalpattu Road. We do what needs to be done every single day without making a big fuss about it.
