Jj Soda Company

Jj Soda Company is at No:1, near the Srk Bus Stand. We are in Palai Pettai, in Arakomam. Being near the bus stand means there is always a lot of movement. People are always running to catch a bus or getting off one. It’s a bit of a loud area. No:1 is a small corner spot. Jj Soda Company has been here for a while. We have a lot of crates stacked up outside when the deliveries come in. We try to keep them tidy but they usually end up in a mess by midday. Arakomam is a busy town. The heat is pretty bad in the afternoons. We have a small radio that plays in the background, mostly just the news or some old songs. It keeps us company while we work. The walls are painted a dull color that we don't really notice anymore. We don't have any fancy uniforms. We just wear what’s comfortable for moving heavy boxes. Palai Pettai is a good neighborhood. The people are friendly enough if you have time to talk, which we usually don't. We focus on the bottles and the machines. Sometimes the labels don't stick right and we have to redo them. It’s just part of the daily grind at Jj Soda Company. We open up the shutters every morning at the same time. It's a living. We don't think about it much more than that. The buses keep on coming.
