Hindustan Fresh

If you go down Mettu Street toward the Market Road in Kelambakkam, you’ll find us at No: 3/340. We call ourselves Hindustan Fresh. Being near the market means we have to be up before everyone else. Usually, the sun isn’t even up when we start. The air is cool then, but it smells like the market—lots of different things mixed together. We handle fresh goods, so there’s no time to sit around. Everything has to be moved quickly. It’s a noisy street, especially on market days. We have a small team, mostly local guys who know the area well. We don't have a big corporate philosophy. We just check the produce, sort it out, and get it ready. The shop floor is always a bit wet from cleaning, and there’s always someone moving a trolley. It’s hard work on your feet all day. Kelambakkam is a busy junction, so we get a lot of people passing through. We don't spend money on big ads or fancy logos. Our sign is a bit faded, but people know where we are. We just focus on what’s right in front of us. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to scramble, but that’s just part of life here. We’re just a regular local business trying to keep things fresh and moving. It’s not complicated, just long hours and a lot of lifting. That is how we spend our weeks, one day after the other.
