G. Govindarajulu Naidu & Co.

Our place, G. Govindarajulu Naidu & Co., is right on Naidu Shop Road in the Radha Nagar part of Chromepet. It’s a familiar spot for most people living around here. The shop has been in the family for a long time, and we try to keep things running the way they always have. We don't have a lot of modern gadgets or fancy displays. It’s mostly just shelves filled with whatever we’re stocking at the time and a wooden counter where we sit. People stop by not just to buy things but sometimes just to chat for a minute about the weather or the traffic on the main road. The ceiling fan has a bit of a wobble to it, but it still works fine. We open up early in the morning, usually before the sun gets too high, and stay until the evening. It’s a steady pace of work. We don't try to compete with the big malls or the online shops. We just provide what the local folks need and try to be fair about it. The floor is made of old stone that’s worn smooth from years of people walking on it. It’s a comfortable place to be. We know the names of most of our customers, and they know ours. It’s just a simple neighborhood business that’s part of the furniture in Chromepet. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we’re still here doing our thing on the same road.
