Choudhary Leather Creations

We are over at No. 7 in the Karanai Puducherry district. It’s in the Urapakkam area, specifically Karanaipuduchery. If you smell chocolate in the air, you’re probably close because the Pearter Chocolate Factory is right near us. That’s usually how we give directions to people who haven't visited Choudhary Leather Creations before. Our building is a bit older, and the entrance can be easy to miss if you’re driving too fast. Inside, there is always that distinct smell of leather and some oil from the machines. It’s a heavy scent, but we like it. It means we’re working. We have a small crew here. Most of us have lived in Urapakkam for a long time. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. You just walk in and someone will be there at a bench or a table. We’ve had some rainy days where the roof leaked a little near the back door, but we patched it up ourselves. It’s that kind of place. We take care of our own stuff. Working with leather is slow work, and we don't like to rush it just to get through the day. We’ve got a rhythm going. It’s not a polished corporate environment, just a workspace where things get made. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on the orders we have. It’s a quiet life, mostly, except for the factory noise nearby. We just do the best we can.
