Bharathi Stores

Bharathi Stores is located at 15 G S T Road in Madurantakam. We’re situated very close to the Ari Kathar Perumal Temple, which is the main landmark around here. Because of the temple, we see a lot of people passing through our doors, especially during the festivals and on weekends. The G S T Road is always humming with the sound of cars and buses going past. Our shop is a bit small, but we try to pack a lot of stuff onto the shelves for our customers. We’ve got everything from household basics to small items people might need for their prayers at the temple nearby. I spend most of my day greeting people and helping them find whatever they’re looking for. It gets quite crowded in here sometimes, and we have to shuffle boxes around to make enough room for everyone to stand. The floor is old tile, and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We open the shutters early in the morning and don't usually close them until it's quite late at night. It’s a long day, but we enjoy the talk and the general bustle of the street. Sometimes we sit on the small wooden stools out front when things are quiet for a few minutes. We don't use any fancy computer systems; we just know where everything is kept. It’s a local shop for local people in Madurantakam.
