Merlin General Stores

Merlin General Stores is tucked away at 3-29-49 in Thettalapadu, which is part of the Thirumalayapalem area. It is a quiet place compared to the big towns, and things move pretty slowly around here. We open up early when the air is still a bit cool and stay open until the sun goes down. The store is filled with all sorts of things, from plastic buckets to small snacks, mostly just stuff the people in Thettalapadu need so they don't have to travel far. The building itself is older, with walls that could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it does the job. Usually, the morning is the busiest time when people are heading out to work. After that, it gets quiet enough that you can hear the birds or someone calling out from down the street. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. It’s not a fancy business with computers or bright lights. We just use a simple ledger and a calculator to keep track of things. Sometimes the kids come in after school for some candy, and that's usually the loudest part of our day. We like the pace here in Thirumalayapalem. It is a simple life of managing stock and chatting with neighbors who have lived here as long as we have. There isn't much more to it than that, just keeping the doors open and the shelves full.
