Sib Oil Mill Prime Private Limited is down in Dhakenabori village, right near the Golden Picture Hall. We are at House 113. Being on the Chaygaon Railway Station Road means we hear the trains all day long. You eventually get used to the whistling and the way the ground shakes when the heavy ones go by. Having the cinema hall nearby is nice because people gather there in the evenings. Our mill is an old-fashioned kind of place. We crush seeds and make oil every day. It gets very loud inside when everything is running at once. Village life is usually slow but the mill stays busy throughout the seasons. We have a few guys from the neighborhood working with us. Sometimes the trucks get stuck on the station road when it rains hard. Then we all have to go out and help push them. It is not a glamorous job. There is dust everywhere from the seeds and the sacks. We keep the equipment running as best as we can with basic tools. When a belt breaks, everything has to stop until we can get it fixed. Usually, someone in the village knows a guy who can help. It’s a small community here. Everyone knows everyone’s business. We have been here for a bit and plan to stay for much longer. The railway road stays busy with people coming and going.
