R. K. Constructions

R. K. Constructions sits out in Dist Ganjam, specifically near the New Police Line. Being near the police line means it stays relatively quiet around the office area, which is nice when we have to look over building plans. We spend a lot of our time out on different sites, so the office here is more of a place to keep our tools and files organized. Construction work is messy and loud, so coming back here to Ganjam at the end of the day is a relief. We started out with just a couple of us and some basic equipment. Over time, we got a bit more gear, but we still feel like that small original crew. There’s always dust on our boots and a lot of phone calls to make to suppliers about cement or bricks. Sometimes the weather doesn't play nice and we have to wait out the heavy rain, which can be frustrating for the timeline. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just us doing the actual building work. My desk is usually covered in drawings and coffee stains. We try to keep things honest and just tell people what can be done and what can’t. People in the neighborhood know where to find us if they need something built or fixed up. It’s hard work, and your back usually hurts by Friday, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep at it.
