Get Man Power

We started Get Man Power here in Ram Nagar on 5th Lane because we saw how many people were looking for work. Ganjam is a busy district, but it’s not always easy for a regular person to find a steady spot or for a local shop to find someone they can trust. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we sit and talk to people who walk in. Most days, we are just sorting through names and checking who is available to start a job tomorrow or next week. It can be a lot of back and forth, calling people up and seeing if they still need a position. We’ve stayed in this same spot for a good while now. It’s easy to find us if you’re familiar with 5th Lane. Some days it is really loud outside with the traffic, but we just keep the door shut and get on with things. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of managers. It is just a few of us here trying to make things work for the locals. Sometimes a business calls us last minute because someone didn't show up, and we have to scramble. That’s the nature of this kind of work in a place like Ganjam. We don’t use any fancy systems, just our notebooks and the phone. It feels good when someone we helped comes back to say they’re doing okay. It’s just how we do things around here, day in and day out. Sometimes the tea gets cold before we can drink it because the phone won't stop.
