Vikramshila Vidyapith

Our school is tucked away in Charadih Post Karma Behind Mayank Filling Station. It’s a quiet area mostly, though you can hear the trucks pulling into the station sometimes. Vikramshila Vidyapith started because there was a need for a place for kids to learn without having to travel too far into the main town. The building is simple, nothing too big or flashy. We have classrooms that get quite a bit of light during the day, which helps keep things bright. Most of the staff are from around the Post Karma area, so we know most of the families who send their children here. We spend a lot of time making sure the desks are in order and the chalkboards are clean for the next day. It isn’t always easy keeping everything running smoothly, especially when the weather is bad and the road gets muddy. We do our best to keep the grounds tidy, though the dust from the nearby road always seems to find its way in. During breaks, the sound of kids playing fills up the space behind the station. It’s a humble sort of place. We don’t have all the high-tech gadgets you might find in a big city school, but we have enough books and space to get the lessons done. We just focus on the daily routine of teaching and making sure the gates are locked at night when everyone has gone home to their families.
