Heera Bhandar

We are Heera Bhandar and we set our shop right near the Ntpc Tandwa Gate in the Chatra district. It is a very active area because of all the work going on at the power plant. We see workers, engineers, and truck drivers coming and going all day and night. Our shop carries a bit of everything, from small household items to things people might need while they are on the job. It is a small place and we have to stack things all the way to the ceiling to fit it all in. It might look a bit messy to an outsider, but we know exactly where every single item is kept. The dust from the industrial area is something we just have to live with, so we are constantly wiping down the shelves. We have become a familiar face for many of the people who work at Ntpc Tandwa. We are just a local family trying to provide a service to the workers in this area. We aren't a big supermarket chain; we are just a local store where you can get what you need and have a quick talk about the day. We open up early in the morning before the first shift starts and we don't close until things quiet down in the evening. If you are ever heading toward the main gate of the Ntpc plant, you will see our shop. We’ve been here since the project began and we enjoy being part of the community.
