Being out here in Vpo Pujarli-4 is different from being in the city. You can hear the bells from the Ider Temple nearby every day. The cows don't care about what time it is, they just want to be fed. We start very early, usually before the sun is even up, to get the milking done. The dairy farm side of things keeps everyone on their toes because there’s always a mess to clean or a fence that needs a bit of wire. It’s hard work, and your boots are never really clean for long. We grow some of our own fodder on the agro side of the business, so we’re always looking at the clouds hoping for rain or complaining when there’s too much of it. The office is just a desk with a lot of folders and a computer that’s a bit slow. People from the village come by to talk or see what we’ve got ready. It’s not a polished operation with uniforms and fancy meetings. It’s just us and the animals and the land. Sometimes the smells are a bit strong, but that’s just how a farm is. We’ve been near the temple for a while now and most people know the way to our gate. It gets cold in the winters here, so we have to make sure the sheds are tucked in right and the animals are warm.
