About Jeko Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Charaideo
Over here in Jonai, Jeko Foundation works out of House Number 20 in Ratkey village. We’re set up at Bagoram Deori’s place, which is right in the heart of the community. Being out in a village means things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities, but that actually helps us stay focused. The house is a simple structure, and we use a couple of the rooms for our daily operations. You can hear the sounds of the village all day, like the cows wandering nearby or kids playing in the lane. It’s a very honest place to work. We don’t have a sign out front or a fancy lobby to greet people. Usually, someone is just sitting by the door and they’ll see you coming. We spend our mornings going over what we need to do for the week and the afternoons are usually spent out and about. It gets quite muddy during the monsoon season, so we’ve all got our boots lined up by the entrance. We try to keep the inside as organized as we can, but with all the files and gear, it gets a bit cramped sometimes. It doesn't matter much to us though. The important thing is having a roof over our heads and a place to gather. This house has been part of the village for a long time, and we’re glad to be here.
