Dhansirighat Agrific Producer Company Limited

You can find us over at Baburam Daimari’s place in the village of Dwidenguri. This is out in the Jamuguri and Mazbat area of Darrang. Dhansirighat Agrific Producer Company Limited was started by a group of us who live right here in the village. We aren't used to the big city ways of doing business. Our office is just a room in Baburam’s house where we keep the company records and meet up to talk about the harvests. The road out here to Dwidenguri is pretty rough, especially after a big storm, so we spend a lot of time dealing with logistics and transport. We are mostly farmers ourselves, so we know what it’s like to worry about the rain or the price of seeds. There are no fancy uniforms or polished floors here. We usually have mud on our boots and talk about real things like soil and water. Being a producer company means we have to do a lot of meetings, which can be a bit boring compared to being out in the sun, but it’s necessary to help everyone in the village get a fair shake. We try to keep things simple and practical. Sometimes we have to walk a long way to get things done, but that’s just how it goes in this part of Assam. We are just regular people working hard to make something of this land we have.
