Referral Hospital

Out here in Mairwa, our hospital serves a pretty big area of the Siwan district. It is located right in the Post Mairwa area, so it is a central point for many of the surrounding villages. During the summer, it gets incredibly hot in the waiting areas, so we have fans running all day long to try and keep everyone comfortable. We see people coming in on tractors, cycles, and on foot from miles away. It’s a busy place and there is always someone needing help with something, whether it’s a fever or an injury from working in the fields. The building itself is older and has its quirks, like doors that don't always stay shut and walls that could use a fresh coat of paint. We don't have the fancy technology you might find in a big city hospital, but we do our best with what we have available. The staff lives locally, so we know most of the families who come through our doors. There is a lot of paperwork to deal with every single day, which can be frustrating, but it’s just part of the system. We keep the pharmacy stocked as best as we can so people don’t have to travel even further for their medicine. It’s a tough job sometimes, but we are just here to serve the Mairwa community as honestly as possible and keep things moving.
