We are out in Bidadi, at number 35. It’s quite a way out from the center of Bangalore, so many of us spend a good chunk of time on the company buses every morning and evening. The facility is huge, but once you’re inside your own section, it feels a lot smaller. We at Volvo India Pvt Ltd have a lot of different departments, but the daily life is pretty much the same everywhere. You wear your uniform, grab your gear, and get to your station. There’s a lot of walking involved because the place is so spread out. The canteen is where everyone catches up, and the food is usually decent enough to get you through the shift. It’s a very organized place, which is different from the small shops in the city. Everything has its spot. Even though it's a big name, the actual work is done by regular people who are just trying to do a good job. We have our routines and our small groups of friends we talk to during the tea breaks. The area around Bidadi is still quite green in some parts, which is a nice change from the concrete of the city. It's a long day, but when the whistle blows, we head back to the buses and do it all over again the next day. It’s a steady rhythm that we have all grown quite used to.
