This is a proper industrial area, and our building is a large factory where we make precision parts for the automotive industry. It is a very different environment from a regular shop. There is the constant hum of big machines and the smell of metal and coolant. We have to be very careful with our work because the parts we make have to be exactly the right size. Even a tiny mistake means the part is useless. We have quite a few people working here on different shifts. It’s not a quiet place, and everyone has to follow safety rules and wear the right gear. Most of us have to travel a long way to get here because it’s out on the highway. We have a canteen where we take our lunch and talk for a bit before going back to the machines. We have to follow technical drawings and use calipers or gauges to measure every single thing. The building is large and has that gray industrial look. We’ve been operating in this spot for a while now, dealing with various clients in the auto industry. It's serious work, but we are a good group of people and we mostly just get on with the task at hand. We focus on keeping the machines running and meeting the daily targets.
