Ashika Beauty Parlor

Ashika Beauty Parlor is out here in Hoskote. It’s a pretty busy part of town these days with all the new buildings coming up. I’ve been working here for a while and it’s mostly the same routine every morning. I walk in, turn on the lights, and get the water heater going. You need warm water for a lot of the things we do. The shop isn't very large, so we have to keep everything in its place or it gets cluttered fast. We mostly handle hair cutting, coloring, and some basic skin stuff. It’s what people in Hoskote need. Most of our customers are folks who live within walking distance. They come by after work or on their day off. I try to keep the chairs comfortable because sometimes people have to wait a bit if there are two or three people ahead of them. There’s a small radio in the corner that we keep on for some background noise so it’s not too quiet. Sometimes we talk about the news or just what’s happening on the street. It’s just a regular local parlor. Nothing too special to look at from the outside, but we stay busy enough to keep the doors open. The floor is a bit old, but it’s easy to sweep. We just do our work and go home when the sun goes down and the street gets dark.
