M R Coffee Links is right here in Mudigere, inside the Ayyapa Tower Building on K M Road. Mudigere is coffee country, so it made sense for us to set up here. We are at number 121. It’s a busy building and there’s always something going on. We work with coffee because it’s what’s all around us in these hills. It’s not a glamorous job, despite what the ads say. There is a lot of checking bags, smelling beans, and talking to growers who come in from the estates. We’ve been in this office for a while. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. People know us on K M Road. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or a bunch of slogans. We just want to make sure the coffee we handle is decent. Some mornings the whole building smells like fresh beans, which is the best part of the job. We have our regulars who drop in for a chat or to see what the market is doing. It feels like a small town even though the building is big. We just do our work, keep our records straight, and try to be fair with everyone. If you’re passing through Mudigere, you’ll see the Ayyapa Tower easily enough. It's a sturdy building and we've been on this floor since we started. There is always a pot of coffee brewing.
