Hirekogalur Taralabalu Amrith Farmer

Our group is called Hirekogalur Taralabalu Amrith Farmer and we operate out of Channagiri. You can find us through Mallikarjuna H.U., who is the son of Umamaheshwarappa in Hirekogluru. It’s a small place where everyone knows each other’s business. We are just a bunch of farmers who wanted to do something together. Farming around here is all we’ve ever done. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is beating down or the rain doesn't show up when it’s supposed to. We started this because we needed a better way to get things to the market. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We mostly meet at the house or out in the fields to discuss what needs to be done for the season. It’s a very local thing. We care about the land and the people living on it. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make sure the farmers in our little corner of Channagiri get a fair shake. Life is quiet here, and we like it that way. We spend a lot of time talking about soil, water, and how to keep the plants growing. It's a simple life, but it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We mostly just look out for one another and try to keep our farms going.
