Mishmi Hills Organic Producer Company Limited

Out here in Kajidibang Valley, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Mishmi Hills Organic Producer Company Limited is basically just a group of us who live and farm around these parts. We are based out of Enam Pralo's place. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that, just where we keep our records and meet up to talk about the season. Most of the year, we are busy with the soil. The hills can be tough to work on, especially when the rains start coming down hard, but we've been doing this for a long time. We decided to get together as a company because it’s easier to handle the selling side of things when there are more of us involved. It gets lonely farming on your own, and the market is far away. We grow what the land gives us. It’s mostly stuff we’ve always grown, nothing too complicated or strange. We don't use the heavy chemicals you see in other places because they cost too much and we don't think they're good for our water. Life in the valley is quiet. We spend a lot of time checking on the crops and making sure everything is growing right. Sometimes the roads get blocked, and we have to wait it out. That's just how it is living in the hills. We're just trying to make a living and keep the farms going for the next generation.
