Yugal Rexine

Yugal Rexine is located in the Bengali Camp area, specifically behind the Ramnagar Police Station. We are also quite close to Jhassi Rani High School, so we often hear the school bells and the kids shouting during their breaks. The shop is filled with rolls of rexine in every color you can think of. It has a very specific smell, like new vinyl and glue, which hits you as soon as you walk in. We spend most of our time unrolling these heavy tubes on the floor to cut them down to size for whoever is buying. Our hands often get stained or sticky from the materials we handle all day. There isn’t a lot of room to move around because the rolls take up most of the floor space. We have an old radio that plays local stations in the background, mostly to drown out the sound of the traffic. The police station being so close means it is a pretty quiet and safe corner of the neighborhood. We don't have a website or any fancy digital displays; we just have our samples hanging on the walls so people can feel the texture. Most of our customers are locals who are fixing up their furniture or vehicle seats. We just give them what they need, wrap it up in brown paper, and send them on their way. It’s honest, steady work.
